Electrical Circuits Lab

Objective : rinciples of electrical circuits and systems. Basic circuit elements (resistance, inductance, mutual inductance, capacitance, independent and dependent controlled voltage, and current sources). Topology of electrical networks; Kirchhoffs laws; node and mesh analysis; DC circuit analysis; operational amplifiers; transient and sinusoidal steady-state analysis; AC circuit analysis; first- and second-order circuits; Bode plots; and use of computer simulation software to solve circuit problems.

Control Systems Lab

Objective : The goal is to gain hands-on experience with the design and implementation of a control system. We will use the discrete-time approach, in which the system to be controlled is modeled both by discretizing an available continuous-time physical model and by using system identification. A systematic, MATLAB-supported design methodology is followed, using a state estimator (observer) and a state-feedback controller.

Power Systems Lab

Objective : The objectives of the EPSL are to: Educate: Power system issues, especially power quality problems, are difficult to understand provide hands-on learning to supplement classroom theory. Demonstrate: Full scale equipment and metering to allow students and researchers to thoroughly evaluate results of experimentation.

Objective : To study the characteristics of various power electronic devices and analyze firing circuits and commutation circuits of SCR. To analyze the performance of single phase and three phase full wave bridge converters, single phase dual converter with both resistive and inductive loads. To understand the operation of AC voltage controller and cyclo converter with resistive and inductive loads. To understand the working of Buck converter, Boost converter, single phase bridge inverter and PWM inverter.

Electrical Workshop

Objective :The objective of the workshop is to impart an in-depth knowledge in the, selection and design of power converter circuits. This workshop focuses on the modelling and design of advanced power electronic converters for electric motors using PSIM and CYME platform.
